The feature lights become a floating statement of the Event Cinemas Queensgate foyer, fulfilling the brief in more ways than one! Visually they had to float, which was achieved with our discreet Gripple wire bracing and XP2 hangers, secured with our Purlin Brackets. Structurally, they had be capable to withstand seismic activity, as the Cinemas were badly damaged in the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake
After tragically being demolished as a result of damage from the 2016 Kaikoura Earthquake, Event Cinemas Queensgate turned to Gripple to provide seismic bracing for their non-structural components.
Cable Trays and Feature Lighting were hung at varying heights within the ceiling area height of 13 metres, using our Gripple Wire and Express XP2 Hangers, which were braced with our GS19 Seismic Braces to provide stability in a seismic event.
Our Gripple Wire and Express XP2 Hangers were chosen as the best solution for this already congested service area.
Visually, the discreet look of the wire and hangers help the feature lights achieve a floating look which definitely creates a WOW factor as you walk into the foyer!
