When Mitre 10 decided to construct a 9000sqm retail store in Wanaka, Gripple NZ were selected to provide our innovative Catenary and C-Clip system to suspend the lights across the $25 million project.
Gripple Catenary kits create secure, overhead spans by running high strength wire rope between two fixing points. Ideal for applications where no direct vertical anchor point is available. The Gripple C-Clip, an innovative twist-on/off device, allows you to suspend from anywhere along the span.
Using 6 mm catenary wire allowed up to 100kg per span and Gripple C-Clips mean that suspensions can be located at any point along the length of the run making it the perfect solution for hanging lights.
The customer particularly happy with the speed of installation and associated cost saving. Using this system for the first time they and was able to hang all lights in just two weeks. Without using the Catenary system they would have had to bridge between purlins using Unistrut and predict that this would have taken approximately four weeks just install the bridging.
Catenary spans offer many advantages:
- Visually discreet and lightweight
- Can be fitted retrospectively
- No tools needed to install
- Available in 3 mm and 6 mm wire rope diameters, for suspensions up to 100 kg per span
- C-Clip End Fixing allows horizontal and vertical adjustment and cams lock solidly in place, even at angles up to 60°
- Ready-to-use kit supplied with a wire rope cut to bespoke length, a hex locking Gripple hanger and a release key
